I second the response to Trader Joe’s Sunflower Seed Butter. I’m nursing and have avoided peanut products to be safe. I tried the Almond Butter which is good but very different from peanut butter. I just purchased the Sunflower Seed Butter and it’s so good that I like it better than peanut butter. Now they just need to offer it organic! 😉

We are a family with many food allergies and as you can imagine it is very hard to find anything that doesn’t carry a label ” may contain nuts/ peanuts”. Trader Joes sunflower butter is a great alternative to PEANUT butter, it taste great and can be used in Asian recipes, baking etc. The problem is now that I have shared this great find with my friends it seems to fly off the shelf at Trader Joes. Ha-ha.

Whole Foods sells Futters Nut Butters which is made outside of Chicago. It is very good and organic.

I am allergic to nuts, so when I heard of Trader Joe’s Sunflower Seed Butter, I was excited and asked my aunt to buy it since there is no Trader Joe’s store around here. I tried it and I was HOOKED! I can’t get enough of this stuff. It’s great on a sandwich with some apple butter and by itself. I’ll definitely buy more.
