I know, it’s a little late for BBQ season, but I recently fired up my grill to make a few grilled pizzas, and I got the chance to use a newer product to the backyard chef’s arsenal. The Grill Daddy is a grill brush with a twist. The brush holds water, that is released slowly during cleaning. The result is one of the most unique grill cleaning tools I’ve ever seen; sleek and ultra lightweight, the Grill Daddy is designed perfectly to thoroughly and quickly steam-clean any grill.
The Grill Daddy is available in three styles, a smaller travel size Grill Daddy (perfect for tailgating or beach cookouts), a larger cleaner (the Grill Daddy Pro) and the new designer Grill Daddy Platinum (you gotta have a luxury line!). Grill Daddy actually refers to the small size, an easy-to-use tool for camping, bonfires, tailgating and backyard barbeques. Grill Daddy Pro is a cleaning machine meant for BBQ competitors, serious chefs or everyday grillers needing a big brush; it’s great for cleaning larger restaurant grills or backyard stone barbeques. Grill Daddy Platinum is for image conscious chefs or design devotees. This is a bit like the luxury car market, lots of glitz and glam. The Grill Daddy Platinum is actually crafted from metal alloy, making it a great gift for housewarmings or father’s day.
I must say that Grill Daddy really is the best grill cleaning tool I’ve come across on the market. There are no batteries needed to produce the steam; as it only uses water to clean (no chemicals) and it’s made with FDA approved materials containing no lead or toxins (I don’t like cheap metals or chemicals rubbing against my cleaning surfaces).
Designed with safety in mind, the Grill Daddy’s inverted handles keep your hands away from heat while providing great leverage to utilize the heavy-duty stainless steel bristles. The core of the brush is filled with water, released through a spigot valve that then comes in contact with the hot grates, as it drips down the steel bristles. The Grill Daddy liquefies grease and brushes through caked-on food quite easily, cleaning grills down to their original surface. Just use it a few minutes before you cook, once you’ve heated your grill. A clean grill is a wonderful thing, nothing like nice cleanly defined sear marks for grilled food perfection.
