While wandering on the Lower East Side shopping, be sure to stop in at the Whynot Coffee Shop and Art Gallery on Orchard Street for a rich cups of Blue Bottle coffee, delicious pastries from Mille-feuille Bakery (552 LaGuardia Place),  free WiFi and friendly personnel.  The gallery will rotate the work shown on the walls, beginning with artist, Jeremy Penn.

If you’re a West Village person, you’re already familiar with the growing coffee shop, as their first location is at 14 Christopher St.

Invited to sample their goodies, I indulged in both coffee and baked goods. They make both regular coffee ($2.5 per cup) and single estate pour over ($4.5) was well as lattes, cappuccino etc with Organic Valley milk. As go-withs, I recommend both the almond ($4) and raspberry-almond ($4.50) croissant, the cinnamon-sugary pain aux raisins ($4.50) and the goat cheese quiche. ($6).
