Open only for breakfast and lunch (Monday - Friday from 6:30 am - 2:30 pm and Saturday - Sunday from 7:00 am - 2:30 pm), Snooze's goal is to [...]

Food Network NYC 2011 Wine & Food Festival

This past weekend's Wine and Food Festival — with events around the city — was the place to see, be seen and meet new friends. The Thursday night Chelsea After Dark event kept Chelsea Market (home to the Food Network) open late with shops offering sampling and my old friend Emeril hosting a lounge. As with all these events, the food and booze flowed. Friday, I headed to Brooklyn for the Burger Bash presented by Pat LaFrieda Meats where I literally ran into Whoopie, the host for the evening -- she took over for Rachel Ray, last year's host. (Pardon the blurry shot, as it was taking rather quickly with [...]

Xocolatti Opened in Soho

Xocolatti (choco-latti) — a shop for chocolate lovers — opened recently in Soho, New York (172 Prince Street). The name is a creative twist on the Aztec word xocolātl (cacao), which the ancients believed to be a food of the gods and was a luxury reserved for royalty. The store features an assortment of handmade truffles, slates and authentic gelato. The gelato is made from the freshest fruits and non-homogenized milk from local farms.
