Bonnie: Pretzel Crisps are thin, crunchy pretzel-shaped, flavored crackers. The everything variety that we’re highlighting here has a flavor similar to an “everything” bagel, with sesame and poppy seeds, onion, garlic and salt.

I like to use them for dipping in hummus or topping with cheese, or seriously for anything where I might serve crackers. They’re also tasty for just nibbling.

Nutritionally these are fine, with each of the flat, tasty crackers containing 10 calories, no saturated fat and 15 milligrams sodium. Or about an ounce (the traditional portion size of 11 crisps) having 110 calories, no saturated fat and 170 milligrams sodium.

Bryan: Oh my god! I feel like this is the snacking post I’ve been waiting for my entire life. Two disclosures. 1) I love pretzels. I’ll take a pretzel over a chip in almost every single scenario. It’s not that I don’t enjoy chips — tortilla, potato, whatever — it’s just that I love pretzels. 2) I love “everything” bagels. For years, the everything bagel has been my go-to for so many things. It’s my basic “bread,” and I certainly over utilize it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

So, with that being said, it’s not hard to see why today’s Bite is a personal favorite of mine. Everything flavored pretzels! How can this product go wrong? I thought to myself, “Careful Bryan… You’ve seen a good idea butchered before. Let’s try them first.” Thank goodness they’re delicious! I won’t forever have to wonder how this marvelous combination of flavors is supposed to taste. There are no artificial flavors or preservatives; just pure everything pretzel.

Oh yes, the twist. I had almost overlooked the unique element of this product. They’re actually not pretzels, they’re pretzel crisps! Another new one to me. Maybe I wouldn’t have to choose from now on between a pretzel and a chip. Maybe I could simply have a pretzel chip!

These baked little chips are all pretzel, yet they’re all chip, too. Just think pretzel dough, wafer thin, perfectly baked and flavored with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, onions and garlic, with just a pinch of salt. Hungry? Top them with anything, dip them in anything, snack on them or have a new side to that sandwich. Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps = GOOD.

Eric: Pretzels have always been my go-to snack (with the exception of Goldfish, which are honestly one of the most addictive substances on earth; I scoff at opium addicts). Back to the Pretzel Crisps. The idea behind the crisps was best summed up by a dear friend of mine: “It’s a pretzel, but it’s flat, and I like it ’cause you get all the good stuff like the sweet and salty outside, without all the nonsense wafer in the middle.” (In fairness, as amazingly articulate as she usually is, my friend was a half-bottle deep in the bubbly).

Regardless of her momentary lack of eloquence, she did make a valid point. The pretzel crisps are designed to provide all the flavor of a pretzel (and in this case, an “everything” bagel) without the added filler; think of it as all the flavor with half the calories. I can’t say that the pretzel crisps are a complimentary substitute for chips (after all, they’re sans oil), but they can replace a cracker and easily become a part of any cheese plate. Power to the wafer-thin pretzel!
