Ok, so I’ve been seeing this product a lot around town. If you haven’t seen it yet, well, now you have.

So… what is a Whynatte? After much google research, it seems it’s actually many things (a cocktail, an energy drink, a way of being – yes, I actually read that). The most basic manifestation is the cocktail, composed of two simple ingredients: a hot latte and an ice cold shot of Jagermeister…combine, chug, you get the idea.

The story apparently begins in California, 2004. Following a bender of dramatic proportions, the creators nursed their hangovers with their morning tradition, a hot latte. Figuring that it was already time to start drinking again (as this was vacation and they were waking up late), one of them said “I wonder what it would taste like if you dropped an ice cold Jager shot into a latte?”.
“Are you kidding me, why would you do that?” his friend asked.
“Why natte?” he replied.

Genius, sorta (or not really? hmmmmm..)

Anyhow, the creators of this cocktail are currently spinning the roulette wheel in hopes of writing their names in the annals of cocktail lore. Spin that wheel… C’mon redbull/vodka, c’mon redbull/vodka.. NO, please don’t land on the Cuervo Black & Cola.. There are lucrative bar chants to be a part of here and Whynatte is now vying.

In true redbull fashion, the original cocktail creators have launched their own canned version of a latte, attempting to capture their cocktail’s market by monopolizing the mixer (aptly named Whynatte Latte). It’s coffee in a can with an energy booster (added Taurine). It is sure to be a rising star while the buzz is about….Though when asked ‘Whynatte’, my initial response was ‘Because’..
