A Tim Tam is a bit of an odd cookie, and one rarely seen in the United States. They’re chocolate biscuits, originally made by Arnott’s Biscuits, an Australian company; composed of two layers of chocolate malted biscuit, separated by a light chocolate cream filling, and coated in a thin layer of melted chocolate.

Arnott’s is now owned by Campbells. which also owns Pepperidge Farm, who released their own short-lived line of Tim Tams late last year. The cookies are no longer available (I don’t exactly know why), and cookie cravers are actually posting their ‘stories of want’ online (http://www.ilovetimtamcookies.com).

For most Americans, Tim Tams are now nowhere to be found. But there is one last case of 24 boxes of Chocolate Crème Pepperidge Farm Tim Tam cookies actually available in the U.S and Hugh Jackman (star of Australia), has autographed this final case to be auctioned off for charity!

Beginning Monday, May 4, Pepperidge Farm is putting Hugh Jackman’s autographed case with 24 packages of Chocolate Crème Tim Tam cookies up for charity auction through the eBay Giving Works program to benefit Feeding America.

Bidding is open through May 13, 2009. You can bid on this auction by clicking here.

Feeding America is a great cause and Tim Tams are a great product to bid on.. it’s win-win.
