The official first day of summer is upon us. Yes, that means it’s time to hit the beaches. As such (in a very image conscious and driven society), many people are trying to shed a few pounds they may have added over the long, cold winter. Such a ripe set of circumstances offers great opportunities to the promoters of fad dieting, and this season there is an interesting one I’ve just come across.. though it is apparently over 30 years old!

The COOKIE DIET (yes, the cookie diet) – Great marketing, right?! I mean, cookies.. sold!

Please know that I’m not speaking in any way about the nutritional value or effectiveness of this program, I just had to write about it so I could say that I find the name of this diet absolutely side-splittingly hilarious.. I mean, someone marketing guy was sitting around, thinking ‘What do all dieters really want to eat?  Hmmmm… Cookies!!’

Wait, I will actually take the opportunity here to quickly note my general objection to any fad dieting in lieu of a balanced diet with exercise – always my recommendation for sustainable, healthy weight loss.. But I digress.

Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET apparently has rising popularity and since the grand opening of the Beverly Hills Store location, tons of celebrities have apparently been flocking to the diet. The diet cookies are supposed to suppress hunger, helping users reach their desired weight quickly.

ok.. well, if interested check out the Cookie Diet online.
