Num Pang Sandwich Shop (located at 21 East 12th Street and 140 East 41st Street) is featuring a Num Pang Guest Chefs Give Back Program teaming founders Ratha Chaupoly and Ben Daitz with chef colleagues, friends and mentors to create a signature, limited edition num pang to raise money for charitable causes. The proceeds — $6.00 per sandwich— will be donated to charity.

The  “Batali Pang” — Mario Batali’s creation of Brooklyn Banger’s cotecchino sausage with balsamic pickled onions and Cacio de Roma cheese, with the traditional Num Pang ingredients of homemade chili mayo, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro and served on a toasted semolina flour baguette — will be available through Thursday, March 15, 2012.

Half the proceeds will be donated to Food Bank For New York City, the city’s major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs; the other half to the Cambodian Children’s Fund, providing life-changing education, nourishment and healing to approximately 700 vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities.
