Just a quick update on what’s going on from the folks over at Food Should Taste Good. Well, they still believe ‘it’, and they continue to roll out the flavors. I recently got the opportunity to try a few of the newer tastes that should be good, and was more than pleasantly surprised.

The Yellow Corn tortilla chips were very good, hearty, crunch, and not overly salty. I dove right into a bag and made them stand up against a hearty black bean & corn salsa; test passed! I moved on to the Lime, and then quickly past it (ok, I just don’t like the whole hint of lime phase so many food companies are going with, shoot me, whatever!). It was then onto the Cinnamon variety. Now these are good! I’m a big fan of cinnamon pita chips and I’ve got to say that these are certainly in the same vein. But don’t be fooled, they’re certainly not the same thing.

The Food Should Taste Good cinnamon chips are still tortilla chips at heart, and, as such, they are far less sugary than their cousin… the pita chip. The cinnamon tortilla chips are more a snack, playing in the nether regions between sweet and savory, and the teasing is delightful!

But, on to the star of the new line up.. Potato & Chive; blending the textures and flavors of corn and potato while blending the boundaries between traditionally recognized snack foods. These chips are a winner and will work with almost anything! I loved them as a side to my sandwich, as the base for my salsa and even as a nacho chip for a bit of bacon and melted cheddar cheese… Jack of all trades and master of them all, Food Should Taste Good Potato & Chive tortilla chips are so worth a look.
