Unilever announced the removal of all partially hydrogenated vegetable oil from it’s entire soft spread line.
This includes their I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter!, Brummel & Brown, Shedd’s Spread Country Crock, and Imperial lines. By second quarter of 2010 these spreads will contain no partially hydrogenated oil — and therefore no trans fats per serving.
Currently, these can claim “zero trans fat” on its spreads because the products meet Food and Drug Administration guidelines, that foods with less than 0.5 grams of trans fat per serving can be labeled “0 grams of trans fat.”
I say, it’s about time.
You’re so cool! I do not suppose I’ve truly read through a
single thing like that before. So wonderful to find another person with some original thoughts on this topic.
Seriously.. many thanks for starting this up. This web site is one thing that’s needed on the internet, someone with some originality!
