When I walked through the almost hidden door of Toledo restaurant midtown, I felt as if I had entered a time warp.  There I found uniform-clad men anxiously ready to serve the classic Spanish offerings in an old-world setting.

One of our group of five suggested the paella Valenciana as an appetizer for all. I’m so glad, as this nicely seasoned saffron rice with chorizo, scallops and shrimp is not to be missed. Perfect to be shared. Too much for one.

Also worth the visit is the house specialty of red snapper baked in a clay pot, served with saffron rice. This moist, so tender dish served up one of the best snapper I’ve sampled.

Toledo Restaurant has been serving patrons for over thirty years, and with seafood like what I sampled will be around for some time.
