For nibbles, libations and entertainment head to The Wine Spot, a cozy two-level village place with wine, tapas and — on Thursdays and Sundays —live flamenco music and a dancer.

When I did so recently as their guest, I started with the  Spanish wine flight ($23/person), from the three offered. The Viva Espana! Spain Wine Tour included an Albarino, La Cana (2008), Rias Baixas; a Tempranillo, Ramirez de la Piscina, (2006) Rioja; a Granacha Old Vines, Atteca, (2008) Calatayud; and a Monastrell, Juan Gil, (2007) Jumilla. The flight comes with a pencil, a page for personal tasting notes and — my favorite — a sort of university with details about the region, varietal grape, color, nose, taste and pairing for each wine in the flight. Tasty, fun and informative.

Although they also offered various cheese and meat platters ($17/27), we opted for a few of the small plates. We tried the slices of  Spanish chorizo with Thai chili sauce ($10); a bowl of meatballs filled with Gorgonzola in sauce ($12); the Arepas de Carne Mecha (two mini shredded beef sandwiches $10), a mixed green salad with almonds and cranberries ($9) topped with lots of Parmigian0 and — my favorite — a gooey crisp bread bowl ($15) filled with a cheese and mushroom fondue.

A fun place that won’t break the bank.
