Odd, I know,  to dine at a Seamore’s twice in two days, but I did.

The first time was downtown in Brookfield Place after the Les Dames d’Escoffier scholarship event at the Institute for Culinary Education. It’s our annual event to honor our recipients. Since 1977, we — Les Dames d’Escoffier New York — have awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to help advance female professionals in our industry.

A few of us grabbed a bite afterward, with Seamore’s being the only place able to accommodate our group at their flagship largest location. Their oysters ($18 for 6) and the lobster roll are fresh ($34). You can get the roll either hot (Connecticut style) in melted butter or cold (Maine style), with a soupçon mayo, both in a hotdog bun with shoestring crispy fries ($34). I ordered the chilled version. Also tasty are the two Korean BBQ chicken tacos ($18) in a gochujang marinade with avocado and kimchi crema in flour tortillas and a kale salad.

And then, two days later, a group of us ate at the Chelsea location before heading to The Joyce to see the amazing Philobulus dance company.

I tried the hot lobster roll ($34) in butter this time, which was okay. Sadly, the lobster was not as fresh as I’ve had in Connecticut.  Others at the table ordered the real deal special ($28) with tilefish and a choice of veggies and sauces. I’d recommend that over the lobster roll.

After dinner, we went off the Joyce to see Philobulus, one of the best dance performances I’ve ever seen. Truly outstanding.
