Call Pat Higgins by 9 pm Wednesday with your order of fresh lobster flown in from Maine. His outdoor Lobster Bake is open only Saturday night from Memorial Day through Labor Day. It’s from 5 to 7 pm outside behind the theatre complex, with seating at picnic tables near the Batavia Kill Creek.

Although they provide plastic utensils, I suggest you bring your own plus — if you own them — lobster crackers and wine. Be sure to wear something washable as no bibs are provided.

My friends and I had the hot dog bun filled with a quarter pound of fresh lobster, offered either with hot butter (Connecticut style) or mayo (New England style). Many at our table had ordered the whole lobster ($32.99 – 52.99); it came with shrimp cocktail, corn on the cob and a roll. Each also came with chips, cole slaw, a beverage and a Flying Saucer for dessert, as Pat owns the Carvel store in the complex!

Pat also offers ribs, chicken wings, beef tenderloin, scallops, broiled cod or haddock and more. Lucky us, we also sampled his incredibly meaty and tender ribs and chicken wings.

I highly recommend a visit. Be sure to get your order in on time!
