We needed to wait for our last friend to arrive before the restaurant allowed us to be seated. The hostess told us that we had 90 minutes.

Once we were seated upstairs, we ordered two of their specialty cocktails:  the Tuptim & Horapha with tequila blanco, basil eau-de-vie, fresh pomegranate and Aperol with an egg-free foam ($17) and the Jakapat ($17 ). The latter lychee gin martini was a bit too strong for my dining partner, who requested some fizzy water to dilute the blend of gin, Lillet rose, St Germain and lychee liqueur. Another dining partner sipped the on-draft Singa Thai beer ($10)

If you do go, request the upstairs back corner for a quiet table, as there’s only one table nearby.

Mitr Thai is serious about getting us in and out. While sipping our drinks, the servers tried to deliver everything we ordered. We didn’t have room. And, we didn’t want everything at once.

We did like everything they managed to squeeze onto the table before we stopped them from serving the remaining dishes. The ones served included the Larb Phu Nim ($18), soft-shell crab pieces in a crispy herbed rice crust with a chili lime dip and the slightly spicy Goong Muk Prik Klua, sauteed shrimp and squid ($28).

We also like their  Pork Pad Se-Ew ($18), sautéed broad noodles and Chinese broccoli in a thick soy sauce, and the Pad Thai ($20) sautéed rice noodles with shrimp, chopped peanuts and beansprouts. Oddly, these two noodle dishes offered skimpy portions.

Instead of making us a fresh Pla Tod Yum MaMuang, their fried fillet of branzino topped with mango salad, they returned the held-in-the-kitchen one. When we mentioned that the dish had dried out in holding, they did remove the $39 from the bill.  Although the Ped Pa Loh, braised deboned half duck ($32) was overcooked, it was still edible, especially the steamed broccoli.

After clearing our table, the server said they needed the table. And so, this might be the perfect place to grab a bite when trying to make a Broadway curtain. You know you’ll be in and be kicked out in 90 minutes.
