At the new Indigo Restaurant and Beach Club — right on the beach in Playa del Carmen in the Mexican Caribbean — guests dine on fresh fusion seafood cuisine nd admire the blue sea, all at the same time Indigo offers a fresh fusion cuisine that blends Italian, Asian and Mexican influences with a focus on seafood.
The menu includes Asian-style tuna sashimi served with a Mexican Veracruz vinaigrette, capers and julienned local red onion and traditional Mexican dishes, such as tuna tostadas served in the Mayan pibil style, where the tuna is first marinated in the sauce of achiote, orange juice and spices and then cooked.
Italian restaurateur owner Andrea Bastogi, blends his newest creation into the natural beach setting with its tropical, Bali-inspired, light-colored décor . During the day, Indigo serves as a perfect lunch spot for sunbathers and for those looking for refreshing mojitos or ice-cold beer, while at night it promises a lively scene at night.

Looks and sounds amazing!!! Will look it up the next trip!
And when you do – let us know what you thought!
I will..I believe we are returning to Playa the end of August/first of September. Can’t wait to try Indigo.
just had sensational woodfired oven pizza there this week;thin crust, spare very good quality toppings in the less is more concept.Going back for more from the menu today.
We arrived in Playa last night and I am going to Indigo this afternoon..post after. 🙂 I can’t wait to try the sashimi while the husband is anxious for the pizza!
It was everything I expected and more. We have returned to Playa twice since and Indigo is a MUST stop.
We were treated to an included continental breakfast here while staying at Kinbe..delicious, fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, danishes..etc. The orange juice is fresh squeezed. There is another section that was not included but you can purchase. Fresh bread, deli style meats and cheeses, amazing assortment of food!
We returned again (sorry just for breakfast! Though the sushi for lunch looked AMAZING!)
Mimosas with fresh squeezed oj again, fantastic buffet breakfast and husband also had an omlette that was loaded with cheeses, ham, peppers..etc. It was huge.
The staff should also be commended as they are eager to please and will bring you whatever you desire.
I love Indigo..can’t wait to return in the near future which will most likely be in a month or two.
