Starting this fall, Kellogg and General Mills will be posting nutrition-content logos on their cereal boxes indicating the calories, fat, salt, sugars and two other manufacturer-chosen nutrients in each serving. These logos will also indicate how these numbers fit into the recommended daily intake.
Currently there is no standard logo, so individual companies are devising their own. Stay tuned, as the the Food and Drug Administration is looking into a standard format, but that could take years. Until then, this is a big step for those concerned about nutrition.
