FIN at the Tropicana Casino & Resort is the only seafood restaurant in Atlantic City and on the Boardwalk with outdoor oceanfront seating, weather permitting. Sadly, the evening I dined there a storm was brewing and I had to enjoy the ocean view through the window.  IMG_7919_2

We commenced our meal with an avocado roll ($5) from the sushi bar, followed by a succulent Blue Crab & Maine Lobster Roll ($20) with huge chunks of seafood on a sweet bun that complemented the flavor of New-England style classic. Both washed down smoothly with Conundrum, Caymus, Rutherford California, 2008 ($45).

Chef Demetrios Haronis signature Dancing Shrimp ($38) was next with onion-panko crusted wild Pacific shrimp atop a lobster and blue crab cake.

Our favorite was his Seared Cape May Day Boat Scallops ($40) – the seared scallops sat atop a small pool of delicately truffled grits IMG_7922and were topped with bacon, avocado and micro-greens. A dish not to be missed.

FIN scores big on attentive service — an attribute lacking in many other Atlantic City dining places. And they offer fifty bottle of wine under $50. Chef Demetrios Haronis uses local seasonal ingredients whenever possible and showcases local wines as well.
