This will be the first Salt on BiteoftheBestgovernment initiative to set legal limits on the amount of salt allowed in processed foods.

The government has called on food manufacturers to voluntarily reduce salt in their products, and — as we’ve reported here on BiteoftheBest.com — companies such as ConAgra, PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, General Mills and Sara Lee have already announced that they’ll do so, as I’m sure the companies were aware of the FDA’s plans!

Stay tuned for those details once the  government determines those limits. In the meantime, click here for a full story.
