Most of the rooftop bars I sampled around Manhattan this summer have emptied my wallet. Seriously where else would you fork over $45 for 2 glasses of rosè?

I knew there had to be a reasonably priced one around town. Cloud Social on the 17th floor of the New York Manhattan Hotel (nyma) is it. You see they have a happy hour every day from 3 to 7 pm, with well drinks and house wine $6!! I recommend skipping the wine: My glass of Cabernet Sauvignon was so warm from the heat, it was like drinking glögg. Opt for a mixed drink for sure! Or splurge on a call mixed drink for $12!

And while sipping your libation, you can see The Freedom Tower as well as the Empire State building.

In this 120-seat place, it’s mostly self service, so stop at the bar for a drink. If you’re hungry there’s hummus and pita chips ($8), cubes of cheese, sliced meats and crackers ($14) or olives with nuts and wasabi peas ($9).

Cloud Social is fun… but stay tuned for a more upscale and more fun rooftop with even more amazing views and reasonable prices..
