Always up for discovering new places, we decide to meet in our hood at Citizens of Gramercy. We sat in their outdoor heated structure that was open on one side. I avoid those that are totally enclosed.

I started with and enjoyed their espresso martini ($14), my friend sipped a glass of their Archer Roose house Chilean Sauvignon Blanc.

We shared two flavorful dishes including their red baked eggs ($14.50), with two soft-poached eggs in a sweet tomato sauce, chorizo, roasted red pepper, cannellini beans and spinach served in a royal blue cast-iron pot served with small slices of toasted brioche. The other a loaded BBQ pork sandwich on brioche including smokey cabbage and sweet and spicy pickles. With that, we tried their air-baked herbed fries (+$2). I prefer oil-fried ones!

I can recommend this Citizens; I haven’t yet tried their three other downtown locations.
