Market Street Saloon, a restaurant and tavern in Charleston, SC known for live country music and family-style service, plans to unveil several new menu items and specials in the coming months.

Locally owned and operated by Sam Mustafa, the head of Charleston Hospitality Group and Market Street Saloon LogoToast! restaurant, the menu signals a new direction for the Saloon. The offerings will emphasize  the heritage and cooking traditions of the South.  Market Street Saloon has partnered with restaurant consultants, barbecue pitmasters and competitive chefs across the Southeast to develop and expand their menu offerings.

The Saloon will introduce a new, limited menu at its new downtown location (32-D N. Market Street) and at its North Charleston location (7690 Northwoods Blvd.).

One of the most talked about items is “The World’s Best Barbecue Sandwich!” This is delicious, and oversized, featuring a half-pound of slowly-smoked pork barbecue, topped with homemade coleslaw, and a choice of Saloon barbecue sauce.

Market Street will also be introducing a line of new BBQ sauces, including Eastern North Carolina Vinegar, Kansas City Special, Memphis Sweet, and Orangeburg Mustard. Other menu additions will include pimiento cheese and hot links; the South of Broad Barbecue Wrap, a fine low-carb option; as well as the Market Street Chicken Salad Sandwich, slowly-roasted chicken served on a fresh croissant or wrap. Put plainly, it’s Southern barbecue at its finest.
