I love getting discounts for theatres and restaurants. When I saw the pulsd offer for a $45 cocktail brunch in the theatre district at Lillie’s Victorian Establishment, I decided to buy and finally try their service.

For that price, we’d get two entrees plus either four bloody Marys or a bottle of La Gioiosa Prosecco Bottle with a carafe of orange juice for making mimosas.

Sadly, the first time I booked the reservation, it didn’t work out. When we arrived, there was a sign that the restaurant was closed to repair something.

I tried again only because I had purchased the brunch and tried it another Sunday when we were heading theatre. This time we were seeing Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, a musical that hadn’t had a Broadway revival since its Tony Award-winning debut in 1978.

I had made a res they couldn’t find. They finally took care of us by seating us at the bar. At least we had our attentive bartender, who took excellent care of us. We chose the prosecco and OJ, then each indulged in a Lillie’s burger. It’s a 6-ounce grilled patty on a brioche bun topped with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and cheddar cheese and accompanied by fries.

The burger would have cost $23 each if we didn’t have the pulsd coupon — making it a real bargain. That, and the burger was good!!

We then went off to see Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, which was enjoyable if you — like me — are entertained by dancing. There is no story, just dancing.

The show has since closed.

I do recommend a burger at Lillie’s.
