Food industry expert Karen Karp of Karp Resources and others answer these questions on September 23 from 1-4 pm at the Gallery clip_image002Talks that complements the Sotheby’s New York Art of Farming Heirloom Vegetable Auction and Gala, taking place that evening.

The afternoon talks will illuminate how art and food, flavor and culture, trade and sustainability all impact—and are affected by—the journey from farm to table.  Curt Ellis, film director and owner/operator of “The Farm Truck,” will arrive at in his Dodge pickup with heirloom varieties harvested and packaged for auction in the evening.

Tickets: $40 for the Gallery Talks only that includes a box lunch of edible heirlooms and other delicious foods from Great Performances;  $250 per ticket also includes Cocktail Reception and Auction and $1,000 per ticket also includes the Gala Dinner. Proceeds benefit the GrowNYC New Farmer Development Project and The Sylvia Center at Katchkie Farm.
