Imagine dining in a former auto-repair shop garage stuffed with antiques. That’s exactly what the Antique Garage is, in Soho… and with good food.

If you go, don’t miss the Mediterranean meze ($24). This one has the typical hummus, tzatziki and smoked eggplant puree, but also offers an herbed Shephard’s salad of tomato, onion & cucumber, a spicy chili blend and “Circassian” (boiled, pulled) chicken, the latter was the only miss, as it was too flavorless for me. Those six dishes come with toasted pita chips, long thin dolmas and savory lightly fried cheese-filled borek.

We also shared shrimp in light butter sauce with tomatoes and peppers ($20). My fav was the skewered grilled lamb — five chunks of tenderloin alternated with diced peppers and onions — with tzatziki for dipping and oddly served with both rice and fries ($28). Odd, but we ate it all.

Lucky us, the server brought some tasty honey-nut baklava on the house.

I’d return for that meze and a glass of wine anytime, especially to listen to their nightly live jazz that begins at 7.
