Aldo Sohm is the casual stylish wine bar from Le Bernardin’s master sommelier, across the alley from the restaurant serving light French fare. A perfect lunch stop on the way to theatre, as we were, on the way to see The Tony award winner for Best Musical, Fun Home just a couple blocks away.

We each chose two items from their very reasonably priced ($14) lunch menu; only $25 if you add the Somm’s selection. We each chose our own wine and paid per glass (ranging from $11 to $28).

I recommend any of their  salad offerings as a first course. Choose from the classic chopped veggies and feta tossed with arugula and perfectly dressed in a sherry vinaigrette; the crunchy romaine spears in a Dijon mustard vinaigrette; or the refreshing kale and cabbage salad garnished with hard cooked eggs.

I would also suggest the crunchy baguette filled with confit tomatoes, basil and mozzarella as the second course. Also good is the open-faced turkey tartine, with avocado slices drizzled with sriracha.
