After my last visit to Jane restaurant in SoHo, I received an email from Olivia, their Assistant General Manager, who provided me with her personal reservation link. Saying, “That way I can make sure you are being extra well taken care of.” Interesting personal-touch marketing, I thought.

When I was heading with some friends to see Out of Time — a collection of monologues by five award-winning Asian American playwrights, performed by actors all over the age of 60 — at The Public, I decided to book Jane restaurant using Olivia’s link.

We arrived during happy hour with two of us ordering HH drinks, the Vinho Verde ($7) and Negroni ($9). The others ordered a cosmo ($13) and a Campari ($12).

For our entrees, one ordered the half chicken ($26), deboned and served with fingerling potatoes, haricot verts and crimini mushrooms in a black garlic au jus. Another ate the Jane Burger ( $20) topped with cheddar, sautéed onions, double smoked bacon, jalapeño marmalade, tomatoes and pickled green tomatoes served with fries (that we all nibbled).

Another enjoyed their chopped salad ($16) of peppers, onions, chickpeas, feta, romaine, olives, tomatoes and cucumbers topped with salmon ($10) with their oregano vinaigrette on the side. I had their pan-seared salmon ($27) with quinoa, sugar snap peas, shiitake mushrooms and lots of baby bok choy.

I do recommend a visit.
