When I heard that Crevette’s, the relatively new seafood restaurant in the West Village, was from the same team as Lord’s and Dame, I knew I was in for a treat.

Thirsty and hungry after a morning of pickleball, we ordered a couple of apps and, of course, wine (Loire Lauverjat, Sancerre, 2024; $74) to get started.

We tried poached shrimp with aioli and Calabrian chili ($5 each) from their “fruits de mer (seafood)” section and the smoked trout and saffron rillettes, topped with red caviar, served with toasted baguettes ($20) from the “Apero (aperitif)” section. We also added the fried soft-shell crab with red peppers and a buttery red pepper sauce made from Choricero, a dried Spanish red pepper known for its sweet, slightly smoky flavor, from their “appetizer” section.

We savored all that, then added two more dishes to our order. Their tender and tasty Peekytoe crab angolotti with yellow tomatoes and fresh basil ($28), which I’d recommend. The only disappointment was the fatty lamb ribs ($32); skip that.

In lieu of dessert, we chose the fabulous-looking and tasting fries that  (Pommes Frites) had passed our table while eating, as my dining partner and I are fry-a-holics!

But, I had mentioned with my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and — nice touch —our server brought us a little treat with a candle, gratis.

I highly recommend Crevette!
