Openhouse Gallery is a food-loving event space specializing in pop ups. This month they are hosting two Spanish dining pop ups at its location off the Bowery.

The first — happening from April 18-20 — celebrates the opening of Chef Jonah Miller’s restaurant Huertas. Miller will be serving a bevy of pintxos,  finger-food from northeast Spain. Pulpo gallego, jamón and peas, and white anchovy with green olive and pickled peppers are just three examples of the traditional Spanish snacks on the menu.

Anthony Belliveau-Flores of Rowan Imports will be serving two Spanish ciders from the Asturias region along with the pintxos. Traditionally, these ciders are poured from a height with a slow trickle to create effervescence and enhance the flavor by aerating it.

The second event on April 22, is a hands-on Spanish cooking class led by Leti Salama, where she’ll create fresh gazpacho, a seafood paella and  a chocolate cake. Leti, who hails from Spain, is founder of Leti’s Catering. Students will prep each stage of every dish while sipping sangria and enjoying Spanish music, and then will enjoy what they’ve prepared.
