After an exhausting morning shopping at Ikea, we walked the half mile to The Red Hook Lobster Pound to grab a bite. We ordered — what else but — a lobster roll with fresh lobster from the shop next door served on a split-top bun with lightly-mayo’d cole slaw, a pickle and fries ($24).
I had the Maine chilled version served with a soupçon of house-made mayo, so little that I almost thought they forgot it; while my friend went for the warm Connecticut version with a small amount of butter and lemon. Love their light hand with the added mayo and butter!
The sandwich was good, plentiful and satisfying, but I’d only head there if you find your self in Red Hook wanting a lobster roll or to buy fresh lobsters at the connecting shop next door.
