August, on the Upper East Side, was an easy place to meet friends for brunch — as it was smack between where each of us was heading. We began with their bargain $22-bottomless beverages that included unlimited bloody Marys, mimosas or sangria for up to 2 hours with the purchase of a meal. Always makes for a fun brunch.

In fact, that was the best part – as my bloody Mary was nicely spiced, garnished with a juicy olive; they even delivered hot sauce for me to spice it up more. Our egg entrees were fine, yet nothing special.

I tried the gruyère omelette with added spinach and tomatoes ($18), with French fries and mixed greens in need of some dressing. There was none. One friend had poached eggs with mushrooms on English muffins (Hollandaise on the side), also with mixed greens and fries ($18)l the other the Alsatian ovenpbaked eggs with bacon, onions and creme fraiche in a mini casserole ($ 17).

I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to August, but if you’re in the hood, it’s quite acceptable.
