My kids chose Zou Zou’s to celebrate Father’s Day for its proximity to their hotel, Pendry Manhattan West, the first NYC hotel for Montage Hotels & Resorts.

Zou Zou is part of the Quality Branded restaurant group that includes Bad Roman, Quality Eats, Smith & Wollensky and more.

The noise level outside would have been better without the building’s fan. That said, it was preferable to a noisy dining room. I must be getting old, as noise affects me more than ever!

Like my last visit, we couldn’t decide between five mezze offerings, so we had them all ($35) to enjoy with their crudities and grilled Turkish flatbread, bazlama. Those five included the house-made hummus drizzled with black garlic oil; whipped ricotta topped with diced apricots; kabocha squash with brown butter and toasted almonds; ember-roasted eggplant with spiced peppers and the green tahini topped with chickpea foam (aquafaba) and cilantro.

Our entrees and sides were just as tasty as the mezze. That included the tuna tartare with its thinly sliced cucumbers and diced figs ($24), roasted chicken with green buttermilk ($35), peppercorn filet mignon kebab ($53), crispy potato pancakes ($13 for 4) and the decadent duck borek with duck sausage enclosed in a flaky-dough pastry spiraled.

My son indulged in — and did share — the rib steak ($145) with its long bone still intact. Our server prepared steak sauce for it at the table. Perfectly cooked as requested.

I recommend a visit.
