The ferry took us from the 34th Street station to DUMBO, where we stopped for a cocktail at Time Out’s rooftop bar before getting back on the ferry for a couple of stops north to Williamsburg. My California-based niece reminisced about her development work at this location about a decade ago when she was with West Elm.
While there, we took advantage of Time Out Market’s summer chill-out deal offered when the weather reaches 90 degrees or above. That included frozen drinks for $10-$ 12, which two of us partook in—frosty espresso martinis, specifically.
Once we arrived at Laser Wolf in the Hoxton Hotel in Williamsburg, we perused the menu and ordered the fabulous date-harissa-coated wings with a tahini ranch dressing ($25) before the main event.
Everyone gets served the salatim—the Hebrew word for salads—with their entrée. That includes all these delicious items. Take note that you can just order their hummus and salatim ($26), which is what I’ll do next time, as I so love all the goodies listed below and never seem to have room for my main grilled item.
- Hummus + Pita
- Babaganoush
- Turkish Summer Squash
- Lutenitsa
- Israeli Pickles
- Pineapple with Celery
- Yemenite Pickles
- Cabbage + Fennel with Schug, a hot sauce
- Spicy Cucumbers
- Tunisian Potatoes
- Beets with Pickled Fresno Peppers
Two of us ordered the chicken shishlik ($50 each), one the brisket kebab ($53) and one the salmon ($56). We added their crispy fries ($15). and the fabulous date-harissa coated wings with a tahini ranch dressing ($25). For beverages, we ordered a Sloop Juice Bob IPA ($10), Perfect Pear ($18) and two glasses Gruner Veltliner ($15).
I highly recommend a visit to Laser Wolf.
