The parking garage said there was  at least an  hour wait to get our car. So whatIMG_9282 to do instead of waiting in line? Go get a light bite to eat (and glass of wine) before driving back to Connecticut.

And that’s just want we enjoyed at db Bistro a couple blocks from where we were parked.

We started with a mosaic beIMG_9283et salad ($17) with watercress, endive, Fourme D’Ambert (a blue-veined cow’s milk French cheese), candied walnuts, gala apple batonnets and a cider dressing. Delicately light.

And followed that with a Taste of the Mediterranean, which contained Jambon de Bayonne, fried Laughing Bird Shrimp with a chorizo-piquillo sauce (with a spicy splash of harrisa), steamed cockles with slivers of red pepper and onions, large white bean salad (Fagioli Cornona Ragu), cod brandade and Queso de Murcia al Vina ($24).   And, we washed it down with Rias Baixas, Condes de Albarei, Albanno ’09 ($45).

Satiated,  we headed to pick up the car – and this time no wait. A perfect respite!
