I revisited the Breslin located in the Ace Hotel, this time to try chef April Bloomfield’s breakfast offerings and — at that time — the city’s only service of the growing-in-popularity Stumptown coffee. I wasn’t disappointed with either.
As with dinner, the portions are gigantic but unlike dinner, it’s much easier to get a table, at this no-reservation gastro-pub. (Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 7am-11:45am.)
My dining companion indulged in the oven-baked three cheese and house-smoked ham sandwich with an egg in the center ($18); the presentation is lacking but the flavor made up for that.
I tried the poached eggs and yogurt served over nicely seasoned (spicy, but pleasantly so) curried lentils ($14). Worth the excursion.
