I hadn’t visited Electric Lemon in about a year. It had been my top recommendation for others until my last visit, when my favorite dish, Electric Lemon’s deviled crab, wasn’t up to its usual standard.

Would it be good again? I hoped in wonder. I met a friend to enjoy a rooftop outing before the weather changed. If you haven’t been, the restaurant and lounge are located on the 24th floor of the Equinox Hotel at Hudson Yards, offering spectacular views. This one includes the Shed and the Vessel, which is now open again

The afternoon was so windy that a stemmed cocktail flew off a table and broke. Our drinks were served in glasses without stems, but we still held on to them as the wind was strong. I sampled their Electric Lemon Martini with Haku vodka, Lillet Blanc, Oka Kura Yuzu Liqueur and yuzu bitters, with our server delivering drops of yuzu oil to complete the drink.

My dining partner sipped the Citrus Spark Negroni ($23) with Valencia orange-infused Tanqueray Gin, Pune e mes vermouth, Select Aperitivo (Italian bittersweet aperitif liqueur), Bigallet China-China and a kumquat with orange-embossed ice.

We shared the “New Fashioned Deviled Crab” ($24), featuring a creamy ginger dressing, crunchy celery, and a ginger crumb topping. It was fine, but not as spectacular as I remembered when it was first introduced.

With that, we shared the crisp and tasty cauliflower flatbread ($22) topped with artichokes, spring onions, cheese and a Mornay sauce.

I recommend a visit, especially outside (weather permitting). I’m no longer recommending the crab.
