Although Da Andrea is in my hood, I’ve had never been to their highly recommended brunch. I went recently with a friend heading to Carnegie Hall afterwards.

We had lots of time, so I requested that the three courses that we would be sharing be served separately, starting with their brunch-only flatbread, made as I used to make on my grill, topped with prosciutto and fresh arugula ($24). Crispy crust with a salad!

My dining partner started with a mimosa, I with a bloody Mary ($11 each). We sipped those awaiting our food, catching us as we needed!  The flatbread then hit the spot.

Next, we enjoyed creamy polenta with mushrooms, two poached eggs, and Parmesan ($21), followed by what we called our dessert. their French toast with caramelized apple, fresh whipped cream and maple syrup for dipping ($22).

I recommend a visit to Da Andrea.
