About a week after we crushed our grapes at The Wine Press, we returned for the pressing of them. We needed to extract the juices from our grapes that will ferment to become our wine. Visions of Lucy and Ethyl stomping on the grapes danced in our heads.

But alas, instead we just pumped our liquid out of our storage container into the press. The machine pressed it until all the juices were out and then pumped it into our very own oak barrel.

(We opted to age our wine for an extra year; that added an extra $100 for the extra year’s rental of the barrel.)

We will return early 2009 to clean the sediment from our oak barrel.

Stay tuned for our further wine making adventures.
