Liquor is back in a big way with bartenders now called mixologists and even a conference — Tales of the Cocktail — just for them. With that, I’ve seen more and more infused liquors like this new pink-colored Rosangel hibiscus-infused tequila.
Rosangel ($36.99) starts with Gran Centenario Reposado, a 10-year old tequila that’s aged in white oak for 10 months, then in casks that had held port for 2 months — the latter is when it’s infused with native Mexican hibiscus.

Miranda Needs a Margarita
1 ½ oz Rosangel
½ oz premium orange liqueur
1 T agave nectar
Juice of 1 Lime
1 T freshly squeezed orange juice
1 T cranberry juice
Splash of ginger ale
1 ½ c of ice
Dip a margarita glass in lime juice, then dip in sugar. Mix all ingredients in a shaker and strain into the glass.
Carrie Classic Cosmo
2 oz Rosangel
2 oz cranberry juice
1/2 oz premium orange liqueur
1 oz fresh lime juice
Mix all ingredients in a shaker and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with lime slice.
Don’t Get Too Carrie’d Away Champagne
2 strawberries
1 oz Rosangel
1 oz simple syrup
Champagne or sparkling wine
Muddle strawberries in Rosangel in a champagne flute, add simple syrup then top with Champagne.
Charlotte’s Summer Sangria
½ bottle of Rosangel
½ bottle white wine
½ c sugar
1 oz orange juice
2 oz cranberry juice
2 sliced oranges
1 sliced lemon
1 sliced lime
1 sliced apple
Some sliced grapes
½ liter of club soda
Combine and serve chilled.
