It’s 2011 now, but let’s not already forget about the best of 2010. Accolades are all too often quickly fleeting, so I’m taking a moment to recognize Zagat’s 2010 San Francisco Bay Area pretty boy, Cyrus. The award-winning restaurant in Healdsburg, California celebrated a near perfect score with top rankings among Zagat’s most acclaimed restaurants. Just below first place Gary Danko, Cyrus places #2 above French Laundry! The restaurant garnered both Top Food Ratings Overall and Top Service Overall.
Cyrus Chef Douglas Keane stated, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be ranked so highly on the Zagat 2010 San Francisco Bay Area Restaurants guide, San Francisco Bay Area residents are among the most well-traveled and savvy diners in the country and they have a wealth of spectacular restaurants from which to chose in Northern California. This recognition rewards our unfailing dedication to creating the ultimate fine dining experience in the Wine Country.”
The 2010 Zagat San Francisco Bay Area Restaurants Survey covered over 1,300 eateries in the Bay Area, from Wine country to the Monterey Peninsula. Cyrus features Chef Keane’s definitive culinary style featuring classic French influences, modern global accents and an emphasis on seasonality. The expert wine list features over 1,000 selections, carefully balanced between Old World favorites and acclaimed labels from wine-producing regions around the world.
Chef Keane was Esquire magazine’s 2005 “Chef of the Year”, Food & Wine magazine’s “Best New Chef 2006” and was most recently honored with James Beard’s “Best Chef – Pacific” 2009. Cyrus has been heralded as one of Gourmet magazine’s “Top 50 Restaurants in America” and has received four stars from the San Francisco Chronicle’s Michael Bauer and two stars from The Michelin Guide.
