Sucre - a sweet boutique

"You need to try the chocolates from a fabulous shop in New Orleans called Sucre…fantastic….think they are a Best Bite," wrote Janet Cabot.

When prodded for more info, she added:  "Sucre chocolate has everything – beautiful packaging (think Hermes box but only sea foam green tied with brown ribbon vs. orange with brown ribbon) very elegant …like the chocolates themselves…wonderfully subtle (they have one called PBJ with peanut butter) I like the caramel covered with thin layer of chocolate.  Not sure how to describe but to say delicate and understated. They also have these amazing sugary marshmallow squares!  They were recently on the View giving the audience little boxes. "

Cheryl & Co. Cookie Tower

"Upon my hire at my current employer, I received a wonderful tower of cookies (delicious!) from Cheryl & Co. I would highly recommend this company for a great gift! The packaging is very lovely as well," wrote Amber Cushman as a suggestion for a food gift.

Haitian vanilla

"My uncle goes to Haiti every year to volunteer at a clinic. He started bringing me Haitian vanilla and it is soooo wonderful.

What I love about the vanilla it is how aromatic it is. When I can't sleep I sip warm milk (or soy milk) with a few drops of vanilla added to make it tasty," wrote Lynn Araujo.

Chic Mung Nam Moi Sweet Ginger from Vietnam

Barbara Allen writes, "Chic Mung Nam Moi Sweet Ginger from Vietnam imported by New BCN Trading Company, South Plainfield NJ.
Eating this candied ginger is like having a little slice of heaven in your mouth! Packaged in a zip lock bag, the ginger has a fresh just sliced taste and a pungent bite that will wake up your taste buds. This product never gets hard and brittle like some candied ginger does and lasts for months in your fridge. I found it in my local Asian market and especially enjoy a slice or two with my morning tea or coffee. I have been told by my Korean friends that ginger is a staple in their diet because it aids digestion and is good for easing a cold. All I know is that this product has become a staple in my diet because it is just plain delicious. If you are a ginger lover it will be well worth the hunt you might have to go on to find it. "

KIND bars

Diane wrote, "As a celiac, I am always looking for gluten free snacks and items that can be carried aboard a plane while traveling or stored in my desk at work for times when we just can't get out to eat. I found these amazing KIND bars that are comprised of various combinations of different fruits and nuts, with a small amount of sugar. They are so delicious that my nonceliac friends ask me to purchase these for them when I go to the health food stores that carry a good supply. Enjoy."
