So just what IS amioca powder, other than a "native maize starch"? Is it corn derived?

Bill, thanks for the support! Your right about those chips, they are not true bean chips, neither are the Guiltless Gourmet "bean flavored" chips. Beanitos are the only 100% corn free bean chip. You can find them at HEB, Whole Foods, and Central Market in Texas. Happy eating! Cheers!

Bonnie,
I agree with you. The problem with these so called Adzuki bean chips are many. If you look at the ingredient list the first one is rice then amioca powder then corn flour and finally it says Adzuki "AND/OR" Black beans. So it may not actually have any Adzuki at all! At best they should call these corn chips and at worse it is really false advertising. I recently found some new bean chips that contain no corn and have beans as the main ingredient. They are called Beanitos. The nutrition label says 5 grams of fiber and 5 of protein! Must be because they are using real beans! On top of that they are tested to be low glycemic. I haven't tasted them yet but a friend did and said they were great. I'm going to try them for myself!
