Frito-Lay has promised to find replacements for artificial colors, flavor and preservatives as well as the flavor enhancer monosodium glutamate (MSG) in more than six dozen of their snack products by the end of 2011. Frito-Lay snacks still will contain yeast extract, which naturally contains glutamic acid and its salts, just like MSG. It’s the “flavor enhancer” used in “all-natural” products.
